LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Sandra "Sandie" Lynn Baldwin Kent, age 87, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025 at her home. She was born April 11, 1938, a daughter of the late Kenneth Lewis Baldwin and the late Amelia "Molly" Checinski Baldwin Solosi and was the loving wife of the late George Russell Kent. They married on December 22, 1956 at The Old Stone Church, Public Square, The First Presbyterian Society in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio. Mrs. Kent enjoyed playing cards with her friends, crocheting, knitting, and bird watching. She was a jokester who always made anyone around her laugh. Mrs. Kent had a giving heart and loved visiting Hallmark to purchase cards to send to those dear to her. In her younger years, she was a substitute teacher for Lancaster County School District, and was known as "Mean Old" by many. Mrs. Kent was a member of the Red Hat Society and Lancaster Senior Circle. She was of the Methodist faith.

Mrs. Kent is survived by her two daughters, Susan Diane Kent and Julie Ann Kent; a son, George Kenneth Kent (Lien); her grandchildren, Linh Kent, Susan Lynn Hethcox (Tommy), Justin Kent Shehane (Raven Burns) and James Logan Shehane (Chesney); and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kent is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Kent; her parents, Kenneth Baldwin and Molly Solosi; and her sister, Janice Baldwin McClurg.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service honoring Mrs. Kent will be held privately on Friday, April 18, 2025.
