GREAT FALLS, SC ~ Mrs. Sandra Jeanette Oglesby Broom, age 81, passed away peacefully December 5, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Broom was born on March 16, 1939 in Great Falls, SC, a daughter of the late Hugh Kell Oglesby and Faye Funderburk Oglesby and was the wife of the late Bobby Joe Broom. Mrs. Broom enjoyed playing bingo with her friends at the Senior Center in Great Falls. She absolutely lived for her children and grandchildren who she loved deeply. Her best friend and loved companion was her fur baby, Cody. Mrs. Broom was a member of First Baptist Church in Great Falls and she dearly loved her church family and loved singing in the choir.
Mrs. Broom is survived by three daughters, Donna Rollins (Neil), Kim Sapp (Ray), and Kelly Manning (Michael); nine grandchildren, Alex Walters (Jessica), Joel Rollins, Chase Rollins, Rebekah Sapp, Joshua Sapp, Jakob Sapp, Karsyn Manning, Will Manning, and Emily Manning; one great grandchild, Ivy Milwood; a sister, Carolyn O. Campbell; a very special niece, Sheri Snead (Joe); and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Broom was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bobby Joe Broom; a grandson, Neil Walters; her parents; a sister, Patsy O. Threatt; a nephew, Brandon Wilson; and two brothers-in-law, John Campbell, and Ronnie Threatt.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Broom will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 407 Dearborn St., Great Falls, SC officiated by Rev. Roger Shuford and Rev. J.D. Wilson. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Great Falls, SC.
Please wear mask and practice social distancing during the service and at the graveside.
