LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Ruth Adams Vincent, age 84, died Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, SC. She was born December 8, 1924, in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Roach Adams and Lillie McIntosh Adams and was the wife of the late Jerry Anderson Vincent. Mrs. Vincent retired from Springs Industries after 44 years and was a member of High Point Baptist Church since 1940.Mrs. Vincent is survived by a son, Charles Raeford Vincent and his wife Marolyn Carnes Vincent and a daughter, Linda Vincent Kirkland and her husband Don both of Greer, SC, 3 grandchildren, Donna Lynn Dacus, Jeff Kirkland, and Angela Slaybaugh, 6 great grandchildren, Preston and Jordan Slaybaugh, Vince and Allee Dacus, Sam and Ben Kirkland, and 5 sisters, Myrtis Walters, Sarah Dassaro and Vivian Adams all of Lancaster, and Betty Usher and Sharon Shealy of Columbia. Mrs. Vincent was preceded in death by a brother, R.T. Adams and 3 sisters, Maude Tidwell, Coleen Hudson, and Marie Bryson.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Vincent will be 11:00 am Friday morning, August 21, 2009, at High Point Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Hethcoat with burial to follow in the church cemetery.The Family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 pm Thursday evening, August 20, 2009, at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Open Arms Hospice or McCall Hospice House, 1836 W.
