LANCASTER, SC:::::Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Parks Reeves, age 83, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at CMC Pineville. She was born May 16, 1932 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Charles Eugene Parks and Floye Starnes Parks and was the wife of Lenwood "Pete" Reeves. She was the first female in Lancaster County to be elected to a public office serving as a magistrate. Mrs. Reeves retired from South Carolina Probation, Parole and Pardon Services. She served as Past President of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Reeves enjoyed cooking and watching her grandsons play baseball. She was a member of Unity ARP Church.
Mrs. Reeves is survived by her husband of fifty- nine years, Lenwood "Pete" Reeves, a son, Lenwood "Len" Reeves of Maryland, a daughter, Laura R. Lewis and her husband Keith, of Lancaster and two grandchildren, Michael Lewis and Ricky Lewis and his fiance' Cameron Smith..
Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by two brothers, Nae E. Parks and Clyde W. Parks.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Reeves will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Unity ARP Church by Rev. Charles Hammond. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday evening, May 20, 2015 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Unity ARP Church Appalachian Mission Trip or to Unity ARP Church, Seth's Hope, 3495 Unity Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720
