LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Ruth Tillman McDonald, age 69, died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born August 21, 1940 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Rev. Thomas Tillman and Mary Pauline Ballard Tillman. Mrs. McDonald retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Church of God Fellowship. Mrs. McDonald is survived by two sons, Billy Ray McDonald and his wife Martha of Texas and Victor C. McDonald of Lancaster; three daughters, Bobbie Jean Sonnefeld and her husband Freddie of Aurora, CO, Daisey M. Mosley and her husband Keith of Bethune, and Pauline McDonald of Lancaster; two brothers, Thomas Tillman, Jr. and his wife Helen and Billy R. Tillman and his wife Sue both of Lancaster; three sisters, Kattie Pressley of Van Wyck, Linda Metzler and her husband Vic of Lancaster and Sarah Steen and her husband Ernest of Anderson, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by three sons, Bobby McDonald, John B. McDonald and Buck McDonald; 2 infants, and a sister, Shelvy Bowers.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. McDonald will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 17, 2010 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Dr. Huey Mills and Rev. Donnie Tillman with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mrs. McDonald will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am Saturday morning at the funeral home and the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Carolina Christian Academy for children, 1850 Kershaw-Camden Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720. The family and friends of Mrs. McDonald will meet at the home of her sister, Linda Metzler, 2861 Drew Drive, Lancaster.
