LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Ruth Couick Horne, age 82, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at her daughter's home.  She was born November 27, 1938 in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Marion Odell Couick and Odessa Dunlap Couick and was the wife of the late Dale Carson Horne. Mrs. Horne was an avid reader. She enjoyed watching game shows and cooking. She loved all her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Horne was a member of Flint Ridge Baptist Church.

Mrs. Horne is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Horne Hicks, and Marla Horne Coates (Tracy); a son, Erik C. Horne; four grandchildren, Patricia Dawn Gladden (Devin), Makenzie Lee Hicks, Logan Danielle Coates, and Carson Edward Coates; two sisters, Margaret Blackmon (Ned), and Shirley Turner (Steve); and three sisters-in-laws, Ruby Couick, Gladys Armstrong, and Shelby Horne.

Mrs. Horne was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Carson Horne; her parents; her son-in-law, Patrick "Pat" Hicks; and four brothers, Joe Couick, Hubert Couick, David Couick, and Kenneth Couick.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Horne will be 11:00am Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Flint Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Harry Scarborough. Family will receive friends prior the service from 10:00am-11:00am at Flint Ridge Baptist Church in the Family Life Center.
