LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Ruth Starnes Gooch, age 89, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born August 3, 1920 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Charles Starnes and Lizzie Deese Starnes and was the wife of the late Edward Crawford Gooch, Jr. Mrs. Gooch retired from Springs Industries - Lancaster Plant, was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Leroy Springs Senior Citizens Club, and a member of Douglas Presbyterian Church.Mrs. Gooch is survived by 2 daughters, Dianne Faulkner and her husband William E. and Linda Williams and her husband Jimmy R. both of Lancaster, a daughter in law, Billie Ruth Gooch of Lancaster, 6 grandchildren, Mark Faulkner, Scott Williams, Norman Gooch, William Gooch, Cindy Crolley, and Keta Stogner, and 9 great grandchildren, Justin Faulkner, Amy Faulkner, Brittany Faulkner, Derrick Stogner, Amanda Gooch, Gavin Gooch, Garrett Gooch, Jessica Williams, and Jordan Williams.Mrs. Gooch was preceded in death by a son, Charles Gooch.The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mrs. Gooch will be 11:00 am, Wednesday morning, November 4, 2009 at Douglas Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Rev. Robert Moss with burial to follow.The Family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Douglas Presbyterian Church, 2325 Sunday Place, Lancaster, SC 29720 or New Hope Baptist Church, PO Box 1778, Lancaster, SC 29721.The Family will be at the home of her daughter, Dianne Faulkner, 1936 Williams Circle, Lancaster.
