LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Ruth Singleton Clyburn, age 72, of 1114 W. Meadow Drive, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at Springs Memorial Hospital . She was born June 5, 1939 in Westminister, SC, the daughter of the late Clifton O'Neil Singleton and Lexie Dyar Singleton and was the wife of Henry Maxwell "Max" Clyburn. Mrs. Clyburn earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Winthrop University, taught History and Social Studies in the Lancaster County School System for 30 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Clyburn is survived by her husband, Max Clyburn of the home, a son, Bob Clyburn and his wife Mary of Ashburn, VA, 2 sisters, Gail Singleton Reynolds of Charlotte and Sue Singleton Bloxom and her husband Sonny of Smithfield, VA, and 3 grandchildren, Grayson, Evie and Hayes Clyburn. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Clyburn will be 2:30 Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church by Rev. Shane Owens, Rev. Sam Thomas, and Rev. Tim Sherriff. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mrs. Clyburn will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:15 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in the church fellowship hall and the family suggests memorials to First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 990, Lancaster SC 29721.
