LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Ruth Helms Baker, age 95, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Pruitt Health - Rock Hill. She was born November 5, 1918 in Chesterfield County, the daughter of the late Archie Milliton Helms and Eleanor Dezzie Helms and was the wife of the late Fraudus Buford Baker. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and a member of Springdell Baptist Church.
Mrs. Baker is survived by 2 sons, David Michael Baker and his wife Gail of Rock Hill and Clyde Richard Baker and his wife Beth of Edgemoor, a sister, Cleo Carnes of Lancaster, 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by a son, Bill Baker.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Baker will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Donald Tillman. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mrs. Baker will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Springdell Baptist Church, 1420 Springdell Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
