LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. Rufus Knight, Jr., age 80, of 2444 Camp Creek Road, died Wednesday morning, June 3, 2009 at his home. He was born July 7, 1928 in Lancaster County, the son of the late Rufus Miller Knight, Sr. and Carrie Plyler Knight and was the husband of Frances Wright Knight. Mr. Knight was a retired Residential and Commercial Floor installer, a member of Elgin Baptist Church and served our great country in the United States Marine Corp.Mr. Knight is survived by his wife, Frances Wright Knight of the home, a son, Roger Alan Knight, 2 daughters, Gail K. Adams and Pat K. Snipes and her husband Bill all of Lancaster, a brother, Bill Knight and his wife Martha, 4 sisters, Frances Farrias, Kathleen Small and her husband Johnny, Jean Small and her husband Richard, and Brenda Mackey and her husband John all of Lancaster, 6 grandchildren, Dennis and wife Laura, Billy and wife Wendy, Crystal and husband Tim, Casey and husband Michael, Amanda and husband Brian, and Samantha and husband Jarrett, and 7 great grandchildren, Dennis, Jr., Brandon, Taylor, Ryan, Trinity, Bryson, and Ally.Mr. Knight was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ray M. "Tank" Knight and Howard Knight.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Knight will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 5, 2009 at Zion United Methodist Church by Rev. Bobby Joyner and Rev. Joe Hethcoat with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mr. Knight will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm in the Family Life Center and suggest memorial contributions to Hospice of Lancaster, 902 West Meeting Street, Lancaster, SC 29720.
