Obituary

FORT MILL, SC::::::: Mrs. Ruby Evans Geddes, age 71, died Sunday, January 25, 2015. She was born January 31, 1943 in Eva, Alabama, the daughter of the late James Joseph Evans and Clara Speegle Evans and was the wife of the late Neil Roger Geddes. Mrs. Geddes retired from Hartford Insurance Company. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading her Bible. She loved to play golf, tennis, and pickle ball and was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church of Fort Mill.

Mrs. Geddes is survived by two sons, Randall "Randy" Geddes and his wife Diane of Lexington, NC and Scott Geddes and his wife Melanie of Plainville, CT, a daughter, Shari G. Daddio and her husband Joseph of Huntersville, NC, four sisters, Ruth Evans, of Athens, GA, Elizabeth Evans Wiley and Margaret Evans Vidaurri of Huntsville, AL, Martha Evans Dawley of Pace, FL, and ten grandchildren, Kelly, Katie, Grace, Gavin, Andrew, Tommy and Jared Geddes, and Matthew, Nicholas and Lauren Daddio

Mrs. Geddes was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Evans and Ray Evans.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Geddes will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 29, 2015 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Mr. George Lee and Sharon Wahlin. The graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm, Thursday at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia by Mr. Barnes Loutham.

The family of Mrs. Geddes will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday evening, January 28, 2015 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
