LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Ruby Deese Bailey, age 88, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022.  She was born July 25, 1933, a daughter of the late Grover Ryan Deese and the late Eula Faile Deese and was the wife of the late Thomas Phillip "Buck" Bailey.  Mrs. Bailey enjoyed working with her flowers in her yard. She loved cooking and providing meals to others. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and followed the granddaughter's playing softball. Mrs. Bailey's family will always remember her infectious laugh and her love for others.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by her son, Phillip Bailey (Deborah) of Lancaster; her two daughters, Sandy McAteer (Rickey) of Mt. Pleasant, and Joni Steranka (Jim) of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Jennifer Blackmon (Samuel), Alison Williams (Chris), Kristen Applewhite (Eric), Corey Steranka, Ryan Bailey (Jeania), and Matthew Bailey (Amanda); five great-grandchildren, Landon and Tanner Blackmon, Liam & Elodie Applewhite, and Mia Bailey; her two sisters, Elaine Blackmon (Wayne), and Carolyn Jacobs (Jimmy); and her brother, Ernest Deese.

Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Phillip "Buck" Bailey; her parents, Grover and Eula Deese; her brothers, James Deese, and Edsel Deese; and a sister, Shelby Payne.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Bailey will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Sherwood Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Rusty McAlister.
