LANCASTER, SC - Mr. Roy Clarence Harris, age 79, loving husband and father, gained his angel wings on April 6, 2017 after a brief illness. He leaves behind a loving wife of 57 years, his Allie, Jean L. Harris, and three Daddys girls who loved him dearly; Kimberly (Randy) Barber of Easley, SC and their children, Megan (Paul) Carter, Ashlee Renae and Blake Barber; Karmin (Allen Smith) Harris and her children, Trevor (Jessica) Banks, Taylor (Starr) Banks, Graham Banks, and McKensie Hance, Angela (Robert Kimbrell) Waldrop and her children, Madison Loftis, Devin (Joey) Williams, and Dillan Waldrop and eleven great grandchildren.

Mr. Harris served his country as a Marine Sergeant from 1955 to 1959 and loved his Duke Blue Devils Basketball. He retired from Springs Industries in 1993 where he served as Director of Transportation for 12 years. He had also worked at Burlington Industries in Burlington, NC and Salem Carpet in Ringgold, GA. Mr. Harris was a NASCAR fan, an avid golfer, and a devoted family man. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and many friends.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Harris will be 2:30 pm Sunday, April 9, 2017 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Jessie Adams. The family will receive friends from 1:00 2:30pm at the funeral home and other times at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lancaster Chapter of the SC Junior Golf Association, c/o Raymon Chisom, 1930 Fairway Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.
