Obituary

LANCASTER, SC:::::Mrs. Rosemary Culp Cauthen, age 93, died Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born May 11, 1921 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Robert Benjamin Culp and Iona Weir Culp. She was married to the late James Hazel Cauthen.
Mrs. Cauthen was a loving and caring person. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Rosemary loved children and she was a professional child care provider. Her loving presence graced the homes of many families and children in Lancaster for many years. She volunteered in many activities over the years. She was a Girl Scout leader, former President of the Lancaster County Clemson Home Extension Program, and an avid gardener.
Mrs. Cauthen is survived by her children, Andy Harper and his wife Suzanne of Lancaster, Joy Gunter and her husband Allen of West Columbia, SC two step-daughters, Roberta C. Blackmon of Lancaster and Gerri C. Trabookis and her husband Chris of Greenville, SC, seven grandchildren, Jay Blackmon, Kelly Outlaw, Drew Trabookis, Zach Trabookis, Brad Trabookis, Carmen Thomas, and Allen Gunter, Jr.; and ten great-grandchildren, Cass and Noah Outlaw, Taylor, Courtney and Cy Blackmon, Jacob and Jeremiah Barrett, Ariana Trabookis, Zachary and Henry Thomas.
She is also survived by a sister, Yvonne C. Isted, of Eustis Florida, and two sister-in-laws, Louise C. Gardner and Jo Culp Baird of Lancaster, SC.
Mrs. Cauthen was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew William Harper, Sr., two brothers, Harry Culp and Robert Culp, a sister, Francine C. Player, and a grandson Bill Harper.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Cauthen will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at St. Luke United Methodist Church by Rev. Bill McCown. Private burial will be at Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family would like offer a sincere thank you to the caregivers of Heath Springs Residential Care, White Oak Manor and Hospice Care of Lancaster.
The family will receive friends following the service and suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church Building Fund, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church, P O Box 550, Lancaster, SC 29721.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Cauthen will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at St. Luke United Methodist Church by Rev. Bill McCown. Private burial will be at Old Waxhaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
