HEATH SPRINGS, SC ~ Mr. Ronald L. Buck Thomas, Sr., 75, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at his home. He was born January 16, 1943 in Lancaster, a son of the late John Wesley Thomas and Nellie Cooper Thomas. Mr. Thomas retired from Springs Industries-Grace Bleachery and worked in Quality Control Department. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his companion, Mary Robertson; three sons, Ronald Leo Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Marty of Camden, Danny Wayne Thomas and Buddy Joe Thomas and his wife, Kelly of Lancaster; a step-daughter, Brenda Catoe and her husband, Patrick of Kershaw; one brother, Hardee Ellis of Lancaster; five sisters, Sue Presley of Great Falls, Pamela Bradley of Rock Hill, Geraldine Jeri McCarley and Isabelle Hunkie Pitman, both of Chester, and Gloria McCrary of Lancaster; and seven grandchildren, Kelli Thomas, Stephanie Thomas, H unter Thomas, Isaac Thomas, Logan Brown, Trent Catoe and Miranda Catoe.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frankie Ellis and Donald Ross Ellis.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Thomas will be 3:00 pm Saturday, February 3, 2018 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Larry Reeves and Rev. Robert Humphries. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
