LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Roger Franklin Vincent, age 77, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024. He was born January 31, 1947, in Camden, SC, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Vincent and the late Corrie Williams Vincent and was the loving husband of Diane Mackey Vincent. Mr. Vincent proudly served in The United States Army. He graduated in 1985 from The University of South Carolina with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Later, he retired from DuPont after 33 years as a Procurement Officer. Mr. Vincent was a God fearing and devoted family man; he loved the Lord and his family more than anything. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their sporting events and going on family beach trips. Throughout his life, he served on Lancaster County Council, served as a Deacon, RA Leader, and many other committees.  He enjoyed working out at the YMCA, coaching recreation basketball, being outdoors, and watching Gamecock football. Mr. Vincent was of the Baptist Faith and attended First Baptist Church of Kershaw and First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach and sang in both choirs. Mr. Vincent was given the gift of life as a two-time liver transplant recipient.

Mr. Vincent is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diane Vincent; his two daughters, Leslie Phillips (Danny), and Stephanie V. Blackmon (Lee); six grandchildren, Jessica Gardner (Tanner), Khory Phillips (Jamielee), Ashton Phillips, Madison Phillips, Summer Mangum, and Cord Mangum; three step-grandchildren, Jackson, Gavin, and GraceAnn Blackmon; five great-grandchildren, Raelynn Phillips, Brooks Gardner, Brennan Gardner, Easton Phillips, and Bodie Gardner; three brothers, Jackie Vincent (Kay), Don Vincent (Sue), and Dale Vincent (Fran); two sisters, Debra Dixon, and Ann Hinson; and a large extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Corrie Vincent.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Vincent will be 3:00 pm Friday, September 20, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Bryant Fersner and speakers, David Blackmon,  Jessica Gardner, and Cord Mangum.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
