LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mr. Roger Dale Sims, age 68, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015. He was born August 21, 1946 in Lancaster, a son of the late John Julius Sims, Sr. and Lydia Sellers Sims and was the husband of Linda Ghent Sims. Mr. Sims retired from Chandler's Collision Center and later from the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office. He loved dirt track racing, was an avid South Carolina Gamecock fan, LA Dodgers fan and a Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a Mason with the Wannamaker Lodge #329 and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mr. Sims is survived by his wife, Linda Ghent Sims; a son, Blake Sims of Union, SC; a daughter, Sherri Sims Starnes of Lancaster, two grandchildren, Quintin Starnes and his wife Melissa and Bryant Sims, and two great grandchildren, Madison Grace Starnes and Conor Quincy Starnes.

Mr. Sims was preceded in death by four brothers, Danny Sims, Crawford Sims, John Sims, Jr. and Wayne Sims and a sister, Patricia Faile.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Sims will be 3:00 pm Friday, July 10, 2015 at Bethlehem Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Myers and Rev. Reggie Hopkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The Family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm in the Family Life Center and suggest memorial contributions be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund, 1841 N. Rocky River Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
