LANCASTER, SC ~James Roddney Deason, age 50, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at MUSC Health Lancaster.  Roddney was born August 24, 1970 in Lancaster, the son of Glenda Dianne Baskins Deason and the late James Richard Deason.  Roddney enjoyed dirt track racing, watching NASCAR, building model cars, going to the river, riding his boat, going to the beach, and working on cars.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  Roddney loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Roddney is survived by his son, Devin Deason; his daughter, Brittaney (Matt) Coppedge; his grandson, Swayze Coppedge; his mother, Dianne Deason; uncles and aunts, Jerry Baskins (Freida), and Larry Deason (Hollis); many cousins; and devoted friends, Jennifer and Kevin Bailey, and Justin Stillwell.

Roddney was preceded in death by his father, Richard Deason.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Roddney will be 3:00 pm Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Patrick Blackmon and Rev. Zack Byrd.
