LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Robert Ellis Wyles, affectionally known as "Grandeddy", age 76, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his home.  He was born May 22, 1945, in Rock Hill, SC, a son of the late Oscar Lee Wyles and Dora Munns Wyles and was the husband of Joyce Simpson Wyles. Mr. Wyles loved the Atlanta Braves, enjoyed being outside and he especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Mr. Wyles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Simpson Wyles; two daughters, Trina Wyles Mills (Dr. Huey Mills) of Lancaster, and Robin Knight (Gary) also of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Brent Coley (Danielle), Anna Shaw (Thomas), Kayleigh Knight, and Kaden Knight; five great grandchildren, Easton Shaw, Sadie Coley, Gunnar Coley, Rayna Shaw and Wrenlee Shaw; and two sisters, Helen Yarger (Nelson) of Florida and Jo Bennett (Bobby) of Fort Mill.

Mr. Wyles was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Danny Ray Wyles; a brother, Freddie Wyles and a sister, Evelyn McSwain.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Wyles will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Immanuel Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Al Brigman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at the church and suggest memorial contributions be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 9112 Lancaster Hwy., Waxhaw, NC 28173.
