LANCASTER, SC - Mr. Robert Zane Martin, age 61, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at his home. He was born March 29, 1956 in Staunton, Virginia, a son of the late Ralph Edward Martin and Vergie Lee Hamilton Martin and was the husband of Joyce Welch Martin. Mr. Martin loved to ride motorcycles, play guitar, and piddle with older cars. He especially loved his children, grandchildren, and his angel, Joyce.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joyce Welch Martin; two sons, Lance Poynor (Winki) and Steele Poynor (Krista) both of Lancaster; two daughters, Ashleigh Burchum (Billy) and Cara Martin both of Staunton, VA; seven grandchildren, Cade Poynor, Chloe Poynor, Reece Poynor, Heidi Poynor, Jace Martin, Hannah Martin and Creed Martin, and two sisters, Norma Jean Sprouse of Staunton, VA and C. Gail Harris (Carlos) of Glosuster, VA.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Steven Wayne Martin and Glenn Edward Martin.
The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Martin will be 2:00 pm, Friday, June 30, 2017 at Hyde Park Baptist Church by Rev. Charlie Simpson.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Martin requested memorial contributions be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, AWANAS Program, 1898 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC 29720. The family will be at the home of his son, Lance Poynor.
