LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Robert “Bobby” Lee Hegler, age 85, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at his home. Born on May 16, 1940, he was the son of the late Robert “Bob” Edward Lee Hegler and the late Annie Elena Starnes Hegler, and the devoted husband of Gail Ballard Hegler.

Bobby was well-traveled, experiencing many places, yet his heart always found its way back home, where he cherished the comforting companionship of his beloved dog, Bella. He was man of many interests - he enjoyed hunting and fishing, finding joy in the great outdoors. In his earlier years, he expressed his creativity through music, playing the guitar and sharing his melodies with those around him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gail Hegler; a son, Robert Lee Hegler, Jr. (Michelle); his brother-in-law, Rick Ballard (Reba); and a special friend of his, Corzine Catoe.

Bobby is preceded in death by a son, Michael Jason Hegler; and his parents, Bob and Annie Hegler.
