LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::Mr. Robert "Bob" Fowler, age 85, of 2329 Charlotte Highway, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at his home. He was born April 26, 1923 in Union County, NC, the son of the late Marvin Monroe Fowler and Martha Mary Jordan Fowler and was the husband of the late Lila Harper Fowler. Mr. Fowler retired as a supervisor with Continental Tire Company, was a Mason with the Jackson Masonic Lodge #53, a member of First United Methodist Church and served our great country in the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean War.Mr. Fowler is survived by 2 adopted daughters, Debra Ann Terry and her special friend William Sisk of Great Falls and Denise Sally Smothers and her husband Scott of Memphis, Tennessee, a brother, Clifford C. Fowler and his wife Leticia of Waxhaw, NC, a sister, Bessie L. Mills of Midland, NC, a sister in law, Joanne Fowler of Waxhaw, NC, 3 special nephews and caregivers, Mark Fowler and his wife Betty, Danny Fowler and his wife Sandra, and James Fowler and his wife Donna all of Waxhaw, 3 grandchildren, Willma Price, Michael Wayne Terry II, and Scotty Smothers II, and 6 great grandchildren.Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Marvin G. Fowler and Frank J. Fowler and 3 sisters, Annie F. Fowler, Margaret F. Wall and Zyll F. Bigham.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Fowler will be 11:00 am, Wednesday morning, March 4, 2009 at First United Methodist Church by Rev. Dan Batson and Rev. Jason Everson with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mr. Fowler will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday evening, March 3, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions
