Obituary

LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Robert Ansel Brasington, age 83, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He was born June 18, 1941, a son of the late Lee Roy Brasington and the late Jessie Leola Pate Brasington and was the husband of the late Lynda Lou Hasty Brasington. Mr. Brasington proudly served his country in The United States Army and Army Reserves. He drove long haul and heavy equipment for Senn Trucking. Mr. Brasington was a previous member of the Masonic Fraternity and a Scottish Rite. He loved to travel, was a history buff, loved listening to old music, especially Hank Williams, Sr., refinished Victrolas and Phonographs, collected old records, and enjoyed selling at the flea market. His wife and daughters were his world, and he loved and adored them. He was a lover of all animals, but especially his dog, Buddy and cats, Ms. Kitty and Cookie. Mr. Brasington was of the Christian faith and saved by God's grace.


Mr. Brasington is survived by his three daughters, Kathy Brasington Williams (Ron), Donna K. Brasington Williams (Jimmy), and Renee B. Denton; grandchildren, Lauren Savage (Luke), Kimberly Peterson (Josh), Kayla Hancock (Jonathan), Rubylyn Helms (Michael), Jimmy "Trey" Williams, III (Haley), and Elizabeth Montgomery (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Zoe Michelle Savage and Vera Maeve Savage; Matthew Eason, Trent Eason, Joni Eason, and Savannah Hancock; Kit Williams; and Emma Gulledge, step-great-grandchildren, Carter Montgomery, Brantley Montgomery, and Ally Montgomery; sister-in-law, Joyce Brasington; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Brasington; his parents, Lee Roy and Jessie Brasington; two brothers, Wilson Brasington and James Brasington; three sisters, Evelyn Blackwell, Cora Lee Blackwell, and Willie Mae Cook; and son-in-law, Dale Denton.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Brasington will be 3:00 pm Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Antioch Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Trent McLaughlin.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, 1734 Antioch Church Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
