LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Robert Lee "Slick" Bailey, age 93, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024. He was born March 22, 1931, in York County, SC, son of the late William Joe Bailey and Mary Phillips Bailey and was the husband of the late Bobbie Jean Vaughn Bailey. Mr. Bailey loved being outdoors, cutting grass, working on his cars, traveling, and going to the beach. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a mechanic with the maintenance department of Lancaster County Schools.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his two daughters, Debbie Jewett (Melvin), and Robin Childers (Jeff); five grandchildren, Stephanie Parker (Marty), Mark McCowan (Christina), Rusty Oliver, Ryan Childers, and Justin Childers (KD); eleven great grandchildren, Bailey Parker (Makaila), Kent Parker, Lily Parker, Zeke Parker, Mackenzie Parker, Christian McCowan, Ashley McCowan, Nate McCowan, Brynnlee McCowan, Landon Childers, and Braydon Childers; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Bailey; his parents; five brothers; and one sister.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mr. Bailey will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Marty Parker. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Agape Hospice and several caregivers, Florence Taylor, Mark McCowan, Rhonda Ghent, Ryan Childers, Rusty Oliver, and Johnnie Sue and Doris for all of their wonderful care and love shown to Mr. Bailey.
