LANCASTER, SC ~ Pastor Fredericka "Ricki" Whaley Phipps, age 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, January 3, 2022, at MUSC Lancaster. She was born December 4, 1948, in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Bill Whaley and Crete Robinson Whaley and was the wife of Donald C. Phipps. Ricki graduated from Kings College with an Associate Degree in Accounting. She was currently the Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lancaster and Fort Lawn United Methodist Church; she previously pastored Bethel United Methodist Church. Ricki was an avid Gamecock fan and enjoyed college football and NASCAR. She loved to sing and going to Pigeon Forge, TN on vacation. Ricki was a people person who never met a stranger. She loved her church family and was a devoted servant of Jesus Christ.

Ricki is survived by her husband of 52 years, Don Phipps. She leaves behind many wonderful friends who are more like family.

Ricki was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Phipps; and her parents.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ricki will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Hopewell United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Candice Sloan.
