LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Richard "Richie" DiVico, aged 83, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born November, 19, 1938, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late James DiVico and the late Maria "Mary" (Montemarano) DiVico.
Richie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia Ann (O'Hara) DiVico; three daughters, Eva, Nora (Keith), and Diana; seven grandchildren, John (Bernadette), Jim, Jess, Olivia, Kaylie, Ryan, and Parker; three great-grandchildren, Jack, Joey, and Josie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, John; and two brothers, Jimmy, and Joey.
Upon graduating from Clyde-Savannah Central High School, Richie joined the U.S. Army and eventually the Army Reserves for several years. Richie retired from the NYPD and as a federal officer with the U.S. Mint at West Point. He enjoyed spending time in his yard planting bushes and trees, taking in the sun, telling jokes, and eating out with his wife and family. He will be terribly missed but never forgotten.
A Prayer Service for Richie will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
