LANCASTER, SC:::::::::: Mr. Richard Advin Brand, age 56, died Saturday, March 11, 2017 at his home. He was born November 1, 1960, in Columbia, a son of Jennie Corbett Brand Cauthen and the late Charles Ellis Brand and the husband of Evelyn Elizabeth Hayes Brand. Mr. Brand worked for Oceana Gold in the processing department. He served our great country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed the outdoors by working in his yard and taking care of his animals. He loved his family and friends and especially his grandson, Cullen. Mr. Brand was known for his outspoken political views and witty personality. He was a member at Crestview Baptist Church.

Mr. Brand is survived by his wife of 30 years, Evelyn Elizabeth Brand; a daughter, Elizabeth Lynn Brand; his mother, Jennie Cauthen; a brother, Caroll Ellis Brand; and a grandson, Cullen Cruz Harrell.

Mr. Brand was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ellis Brand and his step father, Frances Leroy Cauthen.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Brand will be 3:00 pm, Friday, March 17, 2017 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Jeremy Overstreet with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday evening, March 15, 2017 at Burgess Funeral Home 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC and suggest memorial contributions be made to Lancaster SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty for Animals), PO Box 3042, Lancaster, SC 29721.
