LANCASTER, SC :::::Mr. Richard Wayne Beckham, Sr. age 65, of 4873 Stacks Road, died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill. He was born March 24, 1944 in Chester, SC the son of the late Wheeler Oscar Beckham and Margaret Thelma Hunter Beckham and was the husband of Clara Bundy Beckham. Mr. Beckham retired from Duracell, was a member of Crestview Baptist Church where he formerly served as Deacon, and was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Beckham is survived by his wife, Clara Bundy Beckham of the home, a son, Richard Wayne Beckham, Jr. of Lancaster, 3 brothers, Charles Beckham and his wife Elaine, Stoy Beckham, and Dennis R. Beckham all of Lancaster, and 4 sisters, Catherine Bayne and her husband Bill, Darlene Pate, Betty Jean Taylor and her husband Michael, and Shelby Funderburk and her husband Kermit all of Lancaster. Mr. Beckham was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Leroy and Floyd Beckham. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Beckham will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bart Smith and Rev. Scott Robinson with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday, December 14, 2009 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800 or Crestview Baptist Church, 2228 Douglas Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
