HEATH SPRINGS, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Retha Newton Vincent, age 69, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center. She was born December 26, 1944 in Andrews, SC the daughter of the late Norman Lee Newton and Letha Mae Martin Newton and was the wife of Wayne Vincent. Mrs. Vincent retired from Duracell, was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Vincent is survived by her husband, Wayne Vincent of the home, a daughter, Pam Baker of Heath Springs, 2 sons, Greg Vincent and his wife Cindy of Lancaster and Rod Vincent of Heath Springs, a brother, Norman Newton and his wife Edith of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Shirley Newton and Kathleen Langley both of Lancaster, and 3 grandchildren, Christopher Baker and his wife Jessica, Haley and Hannah Vincent and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Vincent was preceded in death by a brother, David Newton and 2 sisters, Ernestine Crenshaw and Mary Lucas.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Vincent will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Kerry Blackmon and Rev. Jerald Starnes. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mrs. Vincent will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home and the family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
