Mr. Reece William Cauthen, Jr., age 78, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024. He was born November 18, 1945, son of the late Reece William Cauthen, Sr. and Beulah Smith Cauthen and was the husband of Sandra Hudson Cauthen. Mr. Cauthen enjoyed being outdoors working in his shop on small motors and could fix anything.  He loved to take things apart and put them back together. Making people laugh was a joy for him. Mr. Cauthen had a servant's heart and would help anyone who needed it. He was a devoted loving husband, father, and grandfather who made sure his family was cared for and had everything they needed. Mr. Cauthen was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mr. Cauthen is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Cauthen; two sons, Jeffery William Cauthen and Billy Eugene Cauthen; three daughters, Sherry Renee Cauthen, April Jeanette Swint (Jason) and Kimberly Lauren Bechtel (Jacob); fourteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother, James "Jimmy" Edward Cauthen; sister, Betty Ruth Easler; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Cauthen; his parents; brother, Joe Cauthen; and two sisters, Shirley Jeanette Robinson and Carolyn Cauthen.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Cauthen will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Bethlehem Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Patrick Blackmon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, in the church family life center. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church, Capital Improvement Fund, 1841 N. Rocky River Rd., Lancaster, SC 29720.
