LANCASTER, SC::::::::::: Mrs. Rebecca Pressley Mackey, age 85, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born September 21, 1922 in Union, NC, the daughter of the late Joseph Pressley and Maggie Steele Pressley and was the wife of the late Robert Lee Mackey, Sr. Mrs. Mackey retired from Springs Industries, was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and attended Taylor's Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Mackey was survived by 2 sons, Robert Lee Mackey, Jr. and his wife Dianne and Jason Harris Mackey and his wife Sandra, 2 daughters, Mary Lee Terry and husband Lennie and Carolyn Hensley and her husband William all of Lancaster, a brother, J.W. Pressley and his wife Anna Lee of Waxhaw, NC, 3 sisters, Laura Funderburk, and Shirley Stevens both of Lancaster, and Helen Edwards of Pageland, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Mackey was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James, Richard, and Billy Ray Pressley, 4 sisters, Minnie Marze, Nan Parker, Louise Neal, and Frances Stevens, and a grandchild, Mattie Hensley. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Mackey will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Taylor's Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Robert Alford and Rev. Eric Graffam with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Family of Mrs. Mackey will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggested memorial contributions Lancaster County Council on Aging - Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 1296, Lancaster, SC 29721. The Family of Mrs. Mackey will be at the home of her son, Jason Mackey, 2798 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.
