LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Rebecca Sue Ledbetter Gordon, age 62, passed away on August 15, 2026. She was born on November 22, 1963, in Minneapolis, MN, a daughter of the late Charles Ledbetter and the late Treva Barefoot Ledbetter and was the loving wife of Jerry Lee Gordon.
Rebecca found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time outside, especially gardening and enjoying her patio, where she often welcomed and hosted family and friends. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee and never missed watching Judge Judy and Court TV. Rebecca proudly worked as a manager at Shoe Show in Lancaster for more than 20 years, forming many lasting connections along the way. Above all, she loved her family deeply and had a special way of expressing that love with her treasured phrase:
“I love you true.”
Rebecca is lovingly survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Gordon; two sons, Justin Lee Gordon and Jacob Lewis Gordon; two daughters, Melanie Blackmon Higgins (Douglas) and Ashley Elizabeth Gordon (Jonathan); eight grandchildren, Kristen Anderson (Rick), Lori Ann Rogers (Matthew), Cayden Higgins, Elizabeth Shaw, Hannah Shaw, Madison Davis, Ian Davis, Cameron Shaw, and Grayson Shaw; five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Andi Kate, and Colten Rogers, and Trey and Madeline Anderson; her two brothers, Donald Dunn and Gary Dunn (Julianne); a sister, Deborah “Lynn” Ledbetter Smith, many nieces and nephews; and a loved extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Treva Ledbetter; a sister, Pamela “Tugar” Ledbetter Smith; and a brother-in-law, Ricky Smith (Lynn).
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Lancaster, SC, officiated by Pastor Boone.
