LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Rebecca "Becky" Ray Denton, age 77, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews. She was born November 16, 1931 in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Huey James Ray and Lula Belle Hunter Ray and was the wife of Tracy Denton. Mrs. Denton was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.Mrs. Denton is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tracy Denton of the home, 3 sons, Richard Denton and his wife Donna, Michael Denton and his wife Cynthia, and Donald Denton, a daughter, Barbara D. Benton and her husband Freddie, a sister, Geneva Ray Threatt, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter, and 1 great step-grandson all of Lancaster.Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Leroy Ray, Willie Ray, and Paul Ray.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Denton will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday afternoon, December 9, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dr. Bert Welch with burial to follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.The Family of Mrs. Denton will receive friends one hour before the service, from 2:00-3:00 pm Tuesday and suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Drive, Greer, SC 29650, or the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 10794, Greenville, SC 29603, or a Charity of One's Choice.The Family will be at the home, 1726 Denton Hill Road, Lancaster.
