LANCASTER, SC::::::::: Mr. Raymond "Ray" Lee Gillispie, age 81, died February 6, 2011 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. He was born May 23, 1929 in Danville, VA, the son of the late Robert Worth Gillispie and Carrie Lee Evans Gillispie. Mr. Gillispie was twice married, first to the late Ruth Chapman Gillispie and secondly to the late Peggie McDonald Gillispie. Mr. Gillispie was a retired Electro Mechanic Designer, was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church and served our great country in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Gillispie is survived by 2 daughters, Tereasa Gillispie of Tallahassee, FL, and Cheryl Ann Griffin of Barnsville, GA, 4 grandchildren; Wesley Dobson, Brandon Griffin, Christopher Dobson and Donald Dobson, Jr., 2 great grandchildren, Justin and Brendan Dobson and his fianc Miriam Barnes of Tallahassee, FL. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Gillispie will be 3:00 pm Friday, February 11, 2011 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mr. Gillispie will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 pm Friday, February 11, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and the family suggests memorials to American Heart Association, Tribute Processing Center, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5816.
