FORT MILL, SC – Formally of Solvang, CA~ Mr. Llewellyn Ray Sweeny, age 80, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home.  He was born February 21, 1938 in Toronto, Canada, the son of the late Raymond Llewellyn Sweeny and Jennie Grace Wigington Sweeny and is the husband of Shirley Yankey Sweeny.  Mr. Sweeny served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years.  Following his retirement from the Air Force, he had a successful career in the defense industry. Mr. Sweeny loved military history, airplanes, fishing, gardening and playing golf.  He was a 3 ^rd generation alumni of Clemson University.  Mr. Sweeny was of the Presbyterian faith.

Mr. Sweeny is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Yankey Sweeny; a daughter, Shannon Klug and her husband, David, of Matthews, NC; a son, Sean Sweeny and his wife, Kristi, of Charlotte, NC; and five grandchildren, Holly, Johnathan, Harper, Natalie and Hudson.

Mr. Sweeny was preceded in death by his parents; and a half-sister, Corrine Sweeny.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Sweeny will be held at a later date.
