LANCASTER, SC ~ Ray W. Arant, age 79, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at his home. He was the son of the late John Dalton Arant and the late Connie Parker Arant. Ray was a very creative and talented man. He spent many years in the construction trades and later became a truck driver. His love for carpentry carried over into his retirement. He spent many hours in his shop building things for family and friends. After his health began to fail, he spent his days on the porch with his dog, Buster, watching squirrels and birds. He especially loved cardinals and hummingbirds.

Ray was preceded in death by his son, Ray W. (Petey) Arant, Jr.; three brothers, Jack Arant, John "Ted" Arant, and Joe Ben Arant; and a sister, Carolyn Parks. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Elizabeth Arant; his three sons, Phillip Arant, Josh Arant (Shelby), and Kaleb Arant (Savannah). Ray had one grandson, Justin Arant (Chelsea), and one great granddaughter, Austyn Arant; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Burgess Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
