LANCASTER, SC –Mr. Ralph Thomas Snipes, age 90, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023. He was born, July 2, 1933, in Lancaster, the son of the late Odell Thomas Snipes and the late Eva Hunter Snipes and was the loving husband of Lula Blackmon Snipes.  Mr. Snipes served in the United States Navy for four years.  He enjoyed being at home and also loved fishing with his best friend, Leroy Carnes, and tinkering in his shop. Mr. Snipes loved telling jokes and could fix anything. He retired from Duracell as a high-speed cell line Mechanic.  Mr. Snipes was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and an usher when he was able to attend.

Mr. Snipes is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lula Blackmon Snipes; his daughter, Sharon Snipes Huey, and her husband Jamie; a brother, Grady Odell Snipes; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Eva Snipes; his brother, Freddie Snipes; and his sister, Helen Barton.

The Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Pleasant Dale Baptist Church officiated by Mr. Lynn Hough and Dr. Trent McLaughlin. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, in the church.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, Building Fund, 133 S Potter Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720.
