MONROE, NC:::::::Mrs. Rachel Arnold Pittman, age 89, died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Carolinas HealthCare System Union. She was born March 13, 1926 in Crisp County, GA., the daughter of the late Clifford Felton Arnold and Lillian Folds Arnold and was the wife of the late Ira Luther Pittman, Jr.. Mrs. Pittman retired from Springs Industries where she was a weaver. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren through the years. Mrs. Pittman was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pittman is survived by a son, John Thomas "Tommy" Pittman and his wife Jerri of Monroe; a daughter, Ira Nell Mobley and Jerry Blocker of Claxton, GA.; six grandchildren, Jonathan Mobley, Jill Pittman, Jennifer Kaminski, Scott Pittman, Kyle Pittman and Lori Parrott; nine great grandchildren, Karley and Katelyn Parrott, Avery Cook, Katy Pittman, Hannah Pittman, Emma Pittman, Tyler Pittman, Emily Holiday and Kaylee Mobley.

Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by a grandchild, Pamela Cook of Lancaster.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Pittman will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 4, 2015 at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Patrick Clark and Mr. Scott Pittman. Entombment will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The Family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, Sunday, October 4, 2015, one hour prior to the funeral service. The Family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, 3731 Lynwood Drive, Lancaster, SC 29720.
