LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. R L "Pete" Pittman, age 78, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born April 2, 1934 in Lancaster, the son of the late Oscar Pittman and Maude Hunter Pittman. Mr. Pittman retired from Bi-Lo, was a member of Second Baptist Church and served our country in the United States Army.Mr. Pittman is survived by a son, Terry Pittman of Mint Hill, NC, a daughter, Pam Pittman Palmer of Lancaster, his former wife, Annie Lee Pittman of Lancaster, a brother, Paul Pittman of Lancaster, 2 sisters, Frances Jones of Lancaster and Colleen Faile of Chattanooga, TN, and 5 grandchildren, Savannah and Breanna Pittman and Ryan, Nicholas and Megan Palmer.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Pittman will be 3:00 pm, Monday afternoon, October 29, 2012 at The Chapel of Hartley-Burgess Funeral Home by Dr. Brian Saxon and Rev. Larry Helm. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mr. Pittman will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Sunday evening, October 28, 2012 at Hartley-Burgess Funeral Home and suggests memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 1426 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.
