LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Prince Jarrett Hinson, age 86, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at his home.  He was born March 3, 1935, in Lancaster, a son of the late Ted Angus Hinson and the late Fammie Bowers Hinson. Mr. Hinson was a member of the Lancaster Moose Lodge, Lancaster Shrine Club, Jackson Shrine Club, Jackson Moose Lodge, and Hejaz & Jamil Shrine Temple. He enjoyed gardening and playing with his cat Biscuit. He loved spending time with his children and family. Mr. Hinson was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.

Mr. Hinson is survived by his two sons, Steve Jarrett Hinson (Brenda) of Gatlinburg, TN, and Bobby Darrell Hinson (Lynn) of Charlotte; two daughters, Vickie Messer (Steve) of Lancaster, and Rhonda Jewett (Scott) of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Bobby Knight, Andrew Knight, Rochelle Jewett, Ben Hinson, Chris Hinson, and Laura Hinson; two great grandchildren, Annolyn Knight, and Kalyn Knight; and two sisters, Josephine McNeely (Frank) of Lancaster, and Doris Jean Miles (Rex) of Henderson, KY.

Mr. Hinson was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Fammie Hinson; three sisters, Lucille Rogers, Rosie Moorefield and Joyce Munzel; a brother, Bill Hinson; and the mother of his children, Ann Hinson.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Hinson will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 31, 2021, at Crestview Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bobby Joyner.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of Mr. Hinson. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to The Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.
