LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Polly Neal Hinson, age 90, passed away Tuesday morning on April 8, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Toy Lee Neal and the late Bernice Belk Neal. Mrs. Hinson was the loving, supporting, and very proud wife of the late Max Amos Hinson, who served in the U.S. Air Force. She was the cafeteria manager at Lancaster High School for more than 28 years. Mrs. Hinson prepared meals before every game for the Bruin football team. She and Max attended every game, home and away. She loved tending to her garden and watching and feeding birds, her favorites were cardinals. Mrs. Hinson loved flowers, especially red tulips. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for holidays with her family, shopping for clothes and shoes, playing games with her nieces, Kim Neal and Susan Jordan, and beach trips with her husband. Mrs. Hinson adored her family and friends and was a faithful member of Glenwood Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hinson is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Hinson Reynolds (Michael R. Reynolds); her two grandsons, Creighton Carter (Caitlyn Carter), and Christian Carter (Sydney Ferrell); a brother, Charles B. Neal; a sister, Phyllis N. Ingram; a sister-in-law, Bonnie B. Hinson; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hinson is preceded in death by her husband, Max Amos Hinson; her parents, Toy Lee and Bernice Belk Neal Hinson; a son, Max Alison Hinson; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Hinson; three brothers, Richard L. Neal, Bobby A. Neal and Terry S. Neal; and a sister, Carolyn N. Turner.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service honoring Mrs. Hinson will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Scott Blackmon.

The family will receive friends following the service, Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the home of Mrs. Polly N. Hinson.
