LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Phyllis Deese Taylor, age 65, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. She was born April 28, 1957, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Charles Henry Deese and the late Dorothy Virginia Miller Deese and was the wife of the late James Daniel Taylor Jr. Phyllis enjoyed cooking, working in her flowers, and going to the beach. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who thought the world of their Nana.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Justin Taylor (Ashley); her daughter, Savannah Adams (Justin); seven grandchildren, Tristan Price, Kane Price, Mathew Price, Gabrielle Price, Jayden Belcher, Jayleigh Taylor, and Knox King; a great-grandchild, Liliana Price; her brother; David Deese; her sister, Jimmie Walter (Steve); a step-son, Kelly Price; a step-daughter, Jessica Price; and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James Taylor Jr.; her parents, Charles and Dorothy Deese; and her brother, Mike Deese.

The Celebration of Life Service for Phyllis will be 2:00 pm on Monday, June 27, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Brandon Fairfax.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm – 2:00pm one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
