LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Philip Warren Brooks, age 83, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020.   He was born October 6, 1937 in Binghamton, NY, a son of the late Walter Loyd Brooks and Rebecca Marie Spencer Brooks and was the husband of the late Susan Brooks.  He served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Era and retired from IBM after 37 years of service as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and was a ping pong champion.  Mr. Brooks was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Brooks is survived by a daughter, Kristina Drost and her husband, Hal of Lancaster; two sons, Steven Brooks of Endicott, NY and James Schantz and his wife, Jean of New Jersey; eleven grandchildren, Rebecca Brown, Chelsea Brown, John Daniel Brown, Kimberly White, Brittni Dion, Philip Steele, Cassandra Bennett, Jacob Brooks, Jessica Brooks, Paolo Schantz and Ari Schantz; and 15 great grandchildren.

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Susan and a daughter, Beth Brown.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Brooks will be 3:00 pm Saturday, January 2, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one prior to the service, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
