MANNING, SC ~ Peggy Diane Snipes, age 70, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was born May 22, 1950 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Bill Massey and Margaret Gaskins Massey Cody.  Peggy was a hairstylist and barber for over 50 years.  She loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and father, Bill Massey, and friends.  Peggy enjoyed spending time with her many friends, gardening, working in her yard, lake life, dancing, and special trips with her family.  Peggy was crowned Miss Buford in 1968; she was beautiful inside and out.

Peggy is survived by her son, Brian Allen and his wife, Jennifer of Lancaster; a daughter, Michelle Swindell of Manning, SC; siblings, Linda Harper Hoffner, Ben Massey, Tamara Massey Helms, Randy Massey, Gary Harper, and Wallace Harper; five grandchildren, Heather Kennington, Marcus Kennington, Mitchell Kennington, Hunter Allen, and Brayden Allen; three great grandchildren;  five special cousins, Lynn Watts, Sheila Hough, Sheryl Febes, Chessie Allen, and Effie Deese; two close nephews, London Harper and Phaim Harper; four very special friends, Pat Harrington, Rosey Rodgers, Dawn Mangum, and Wendy Horton; a large extended family; and many friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by a grandson, Toby Swindell; her parents; and two brothers, Doug Harper, and Wendell Harper.

The Celebration of Life Service for Peggy will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 19, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Catlin Rollings and Clinton Watts.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Burgess Funeral Home.
