LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Peggy Louise Hinson Crenshaw, age 79, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023. She was born November 3, 1943, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Bonnie Hinson and Lula Louise Hinson and was the wife of the late Bobby Crenshaw. Peggy enjoyed traveling, going to the beach and mountains.  In her younger years, she raced go carts in Germany where her husband was stationed during his military service.

Peggy is survived by her special friend and companion, Joe Lucas; her son, Joel Powers (Amy); two grandchildren, Robbie Powers (Morgan) and Paige Powers; her sister, Brenda Whitaker (special friend, Jimmy Blackmon); two brothers, Howell Hinson (Chris) and Wayne Hinson (Cheryl); special very close cousin, Emma "Tootsie" Woods; daughter-in-law, Nancy Powers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Crenshaw; a son, Lindsay Powers; her parents; a sister, Dot Faile; and brother-in-law, Robert "Sambo" Faile.

The Celebration of Life Service for Peggy will be 3:00 pm Thursday, June 8, 2023, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ridge View Cemetery (formerly Oakridge ARP Church Cemetery).

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home and other times at the home of Joel and Amy Powers.
