LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Peggy Plyler Carnes, age 89, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022. She was born May 16, 1932, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late William A. Plyler and Sudie Bessie Knight Plyler and was the wife of the late Harold Brown Carnes.  Mrs. Carnes enjoyed the beach and loved watching birds and reading about them.  She was a member of Union Baptist Church and enjoyed helping with vacation Bible School and listening to the choir.

Mrs. Carnes is survived by a daughter, Susan Michelle Carnes; numerous nieces, great nieces; and nephews and great nephews.

Mrs. Carnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters; two brothers; and several brothers and sister-in-laws; and several nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Carnes will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Union Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Catlin Rollings.
