LANCASTER, SC~ Mrs. Peggy Bailey Bell, age 81, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021.  She was born April 25, 1940, in Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Dewitt and Sadie Bailey and was the wife of the late Darrell Phillip Bell.  Mrs. Bell retired from the Houston County Commissioners Office in Perry Georgia.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Bell is survived by two daughters, Cheryl C. Wiggins and Paula Hinson and her husband, David, both of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Robert William Chase and wife Kerry, Brett Hinson and wife Mary, and Jonathan Hinson and wife Lacy; and five grandchildren, Bryce, Riley, Autumn and Summer Hinson and Emily Chase.  She is also survived by one sister, Vickie Bailey Ebbers and husband Steve of Hilton Head, SC; and one brother-in-law, Billy C. Steele.

Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by two sisters, Sybil Timmons and Iris Steele; and one brother, Stafford Bailey.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Bell will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church by Rev. Edgar McCall.  The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the church.  Masks are required inside the church.
