INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Mrs. Kathryn Margaret "Peggy" Casey Barone, age 86, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025.  She was born March 17, 1938, daughter of the late Henry Warren Casey and Kathryn Madelyn Sullivan Casey and was the loving wife of the late Edward Thomas Barone. Mrs. Barone was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Syracuse, NY, where she also taught school. She was very active in politics when she lived in New York working as a voting poll manager. Her hobbies included ceramics, riding her bike, walking, and being outside. Mrs. Barone was born and raised in New York; however, she loved her time living in Florida so she could be outside more and just enjoy the warm weather. Green was her favorite color as she was 100% Irish, and her favorite holiday was St. Patrick's Day. She was an avid Syracuse Orange and Yankees fan and enjoyed going to sporting events. Family was most important to her, and she loved them all dearly.

Mrs. Barone is survived by two sons, Daniel Barone (Tracy) and Tim Barone; daughter, Marlene Barone; and six grandchildren, Casey Zubrowski, Riley Zubrowski, Skylar Barone, Gabby Rosenberger, Jordy Barone, and Zach Barone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Barone; her daughter, Patricia Zubrowski; and her parents.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Barone will be 10:00 am Saturday January 11, 2025, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4845 S Salina St., Syracuse, NY 13205. Burial will follow at Valley Cemetery.
