WAXHAW, NC ~ Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Virginia Broomall Bailey, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, November 3, 2024. She was born December 28, 1935, in Birmingham, AL, daughter of the late James Nowell Broomall and Margaret Harmon Broomall and was the wife of the late Rev. Roy Richard Bailey. Peggy served alongside her husband for over 53 years pastoring in six states: Delaware, Mississippi, North Carolina, Maryland, Alabama, and Florida. She was a huge prayer warrior, always put Jesus first, and loved telling others about Him. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, needlepoint, and she was an avid Alabama fan. Peggy loved her family dearly and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmom. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Cathy Bailey Bruce, and her husband, Richard; her son, Bruce Harmon Bailey, and his wife, Laura; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Bailey and Luke Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bailey; her parents, James and Margaret Broomall; and brother, Rev. James "Buddy" Broomall.

The Celebration of Life Service for Peggy will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Scott Vail. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, November 8, 2024, at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to Bruce Bailey, For Missions, 8812 Laurelwood Lane, Waxhaw, NC 28173.
