LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Paul David Pittman, age 92, died Saturday, September 6, 2014. He was born December 3, 1921 in Rockingham, NC, the son of the late Oscar Allen Pittman, Sr. and Maude Hunter Pittman and was the husband of the late Marie Sears Pittman. Mr. Pittman retired from Springs Industries, was a very active member of Alpha Life Church of God of Prophecy serving as Deacon, Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher and served our great country in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Pittman is survived by two daughters, Jean P. Flack and her husband Gene of Fort Mill, and Debbie P. Faile and her husband Billy of Lancaster, a sister, Colleen Faile of Chattanooga, TN, 3 grandchildren, Lisa Williams, Kelly Flack and Matt Pitmon, 4 great grandchildren, Christopher Gandy, Jenna Gandy, Harper Pitmon, Hudson Davis Pitmon, and 2 great-great grandchildren, Raegan Gandy and Cade Gandy.

Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Oscar Allen Pittman, Jr., John David Pittman, and R.L. "Pete" Pittman and 3 sisters, Geneva Phillips, Nadine Sinclair, and Frances Jones.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Pittman will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Marie Proctor, Pastor Ken Baker and Pastor Gene Flack. Burial with military honors will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mr. Pittman will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Alpha Life Church of God of Prophecy, Alpha Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Glenrock Baptist Church, PO Box 151, Fort Mill, SC 29716.
